Few towns can boast an artistic history as deep as Berkeley Springs. The last three decades have allowed visitors a closer view of that history in action. Beginning in the late 1770’s Porte Crayon worked here by our ancient waters as he characterized the Colonial Elites who bathed her. He would go on to be one of the most enduring artists in American History. That legacy continues today with builders, crafters, and quilters, who quietly prefect their work in the mountains of Berkeley Springs.

Handwoven Design
The Berkeley Springs Studio Tour has for over three decades invited the public into the homes of artists from across the area to experience their studios, see the creative process, and purchase handmade goods to take with them. A bounty of artists excel in the creation of jewelry, textiles, metalwork, woodwork, and painting.

Jonathan Heath Painting
