Celebrate Fourth of July in Berkeley Springs

With America’s 250th birthday being celebrated in 2026, there’s no better time to experience one of West Virginia’s most historic towns. The heart of Berkeley Springs, the municipality of Bath also celebrates their 250 year anniversary in 2026.

The festivities begin on July 3 with Berkeley Springs’ annual fireworks celebration. Grab a seat at Canary Grill or spread-out lawn chairs early.  The fireworks are set off at Widmeyer Elementary School so plan your location accordingly.

If you’ve never wandered through Berkeley Springs during a holiday weekend, this is a time when the town is at its absolute busiest and with temperatures reaching well into the 90s this weekend you should be sure to stay hydrated and to use the “hand test” before walking the pups on concrete or asphalt.

Take time to enjoy the things that have made people travel here for centuries. Fill a bottle at the public mineral springs, spend an afternoon at Berkeley Springs State Park soaking in the free public springs or the $6/day public pool. Find a shady bench and watch the town go by with a smoothie from Creekside Provisions or a refreshing iced tea from Panhandle Apothecary.

At 9:00am, join Governor Patrick Morrisey as he participates in a Flag Raising Ceremony and reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance at the Morgan County Court House.

On July 4, head to Berkeley Springs State Park for an entire day of patriotic fun starting at 1:00pm with the reading of the Declaration of Independence.  There will be kids activities in the park all afternoon long starting at 1:00pm with the second annual Duck Race at 3:00pm.  The park’s Independence Day celebration is capped off with a performance by local favorites The Nighthawks at 5:30pm.

Also at Berkeley Springs State Park you can catch free yoga from 10:00-11:00 both Saturday and Sunday.  Tips are encouraged.  On Sunday from 10:00-3:00 Art in the Park welcomes art vendors from across the region showcasing their craft while across the street the Berkeley Springs Farmer’s Market open from 10:00-2:00.

If Saturday Night in the Park doesn’t fill your live music fixin’ then we have you covered!
