Blanton’s music smolders with moxie, combining the understated vocal quality of Billie Holiday with the folk-pop songwriting of artists like Anais Mitchell and Paul Simon. From New Orleans, Carsie Blanton’s music settles in the pop realm, infused with jazz elements and even a little Broadway-style panache. It’s fun. It makes you laugh, it makes you dance.

July 15 5:30pm Concert in the Park– Harpeth Rising–Chamberfolk, Newgrass
Unapologetic genre-benders, Harpeth Rising fuses Folk, Newgrass, Rock and Classical into something organically unique. Three classically trained musicians playing original music, as intricately arranged as a string quartet, lyrically rooted in the singer/songwriter tradition, and wrapped in three-part vocal harmonies reminiscent of both Appalachia and Medieval Europe.

Mary Ann’s 24 Wammies pay tribute to her vocals from blues and jazz to rock-pop and traditional roots – and her voice which soars effortlessly from alto to soprano.

July 29 5:30pm Concert in the Park–Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra
17 of the region’s best musicians & vocalists have performed for the past 27 years as the Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra delighting audiences with their great sound, impeccable performance, and high-energy contemporary big band music. Not only do they perform authentic swing and traditional big-band tunes, but they also notch it up with contemporary big band jazz.
